I value anything that combines visual and function like clocks, cars, smartphones and anything tech. I’m learning to solder so I can make custom LED strips. And I am installing smart devices throughout my home using a hub so I control everything from my phone without a monthly subscription. USAA, Lead UX Designer
San Antonio, Tx — Jan 2023 - Present

  • Co-designed a user interface for an app that reduces claims made by the customer and saves USAA paying for damage that could have been easily avoided, estimated value of $12.7 million.

  • Redesigned the internal employee dashboard that delivered $6.4 million in innovation to USAA by using field studies and usability testing to improve socialization for every line of business across the enterprise.

  • Redesigned an employee submission form for innovation using HCD methods, by testing behavioral and qualitative research on wording in order to reduce confusion and bounce rates of the users from the submission process.

  • Mapped four Blueprints of services the innovation department provides the enterprise in order to create a shared understanding in cross-functional teams functions, helping them create an action plan for each department based on the pain points uncovered during User Interviews, and Field studies.

  • Gathered data from in-depth research initiatives to calculate the time and financial impact of the request process and built a case to reduce status updates by 50%, we could potentially save over $250,000 annually.
